WANNA RIDE?
Would you like to get out on your bicycle on the weekends, enjoy the beautiful South Florida fresh air and sunshine, and get some healthy exercise at the same time? Not sure where it would be fun and safe to ride? Want company? Then you need to check out the South Broward Wheelers Bicycle Club!
WHO WE ARE
We are a large and diverse group of cyclists who all have a common love for bicycling and the enjoyment derived from the local group rides, out of town weekend tours and social events organized by our club. The group rides range from leisure, smell the roses rides to full bore race training rides, and all levels in between. The mileage can be anywhere from 15 miles to 100 miles and beyond. There is something for everyone.
NEWSLETTER AND MEETINGS
The club newsletter contains a complete schedule of club sponsored events each month. The newsletter also includes articles of interest to cyclists and reports on other activities in South Florida as well as general newsworthy events from national cycling organizations. Members often submit short articles on training tips, maintenance hints, or to recount cycling events in which they have participated, such as their recent weekend tour. Monthly meetings are held the third Saturday of the month at the Administration Building of Brian Piccolo Park (Sheridan St., W. of University Dr.) at 10:30 AM.
OUR ORIGINS
The South Broward Wheelers was formed in 1984 by a group of dedicated and experienced cyclists to provide organized cycling activities in the area. The club's main objectives are to encourage all forms of recreational cycling, to educate cyclists on safer, more effective riding techniques, to support the allocation of facilities for cycling on public lands, and to promote the bicycle as a healthy, enjoyable, economical, non-polluting form of transportation.

SBW is affiliated with the League of American Bicyclists (LAB), a national organization devoted to cycling education and advocacy (among our members are Effective Cycling Instructors certified by the LAB), and the United States Cycling Federation (USCF), a racing organization.
