GIVING TO THE CHILDREN OF OUR COMMUNITY: THE SBW BICYCLE DONATIONS PROGRAM

SBW uses Century sponsorship support and 100% of Adopt-a-Bike funds to purchase new bicycles and helmets for young people in our community who may not otherwise receive such a gift. Starting with 38 bicycles donated to Women in Distress in 2002, the program has grown over 1000 in 2008. Recipients include Children's Home Society, Women in Distress, ChildNet, The Village, Community Enhancement Collaboration and Covenant House to name a few.

A new arm of the SBW bicycle donation program includes the specialty bicycles; tandems, adult tricycles and specially produced cycles for people with disabilities.

Thanks to all the sponsors, the South Broward Wheelers Bicycle Club donated over 1000 new bicycles and helmets to South Florida children during the holiday seasons. Recipients of the bikes were children served Women in Distress, ChildNet, Childrens Home Society, Community Enhancement Collaboration, Covenant House, Plantation Hospital and foster families.
