    Tuesdays - come out to do lap training within Markham Park

    Thursdays -  ride will be within Weston and Southwest Ranches for sprint training - group will re-group at designated areas.  Great opportunity to build up speed.

    Finding Us -  after entering the park, turn right at first intersection and proceed to the south boat ramp on the right, we will be parked by the bathrooms.

    Every Sunday, you will find us at the same location at the same time but with different destinations. 

    We usually ride south through Weston, north to Parkland or 

    head east to the Beach.


    Although we get together at the same location every week, we keep the ride Fun and Exciting with different Ride Leaders,  Routes and Destinations.

          We ride a rotating pace line and emphasize traffic rules, stopping at stop signs, red lights, etc. 

                      We treat each other with respect and leave no             man or woman behind.

    But most importantly, staying safe

    while having fun and exploring new areas! ! ! 

    As dates get closer to ride  we will have a better idea on leaders, their destination and distances so keep checking our calendar.

       How to find us:   Far SOUTH side parking lot of Lester's Diner.

      We would appreciate if  ALL GROUPS park along NW 136th Ave by the shade of the trees so we may make announcements, start rides from same location and most importantly,  get to know each other.

    SUNDAY Breakfast! - Last Sunday of month!

    We will be staying after the rides to eat breakfast at LESTER's DINER. 

    (please let us know at beginning of ride if you will be joining us for breakfast)

    Withlacoochee State Trail Tour

    Join SBW on another great Weekend Tour

    Ready to Discover a hidden gem in Central Florida?

     Rails to Trails has converted 46 miles of train rails to paved multi use trails.


    We will be staying in Moonrise Resort in Floral City  near the center of the Withlacoochee Trail. Arriving Friday night, Saturday we'll ride the trails one way for approx . 23 miles and back. 

    Sunday, opposite direction for another 23 miles and back.  We have arranged for a late check out of 3:00 p.m.

    Motel is just 4 miles from cabins and right on the Withlacoochee Trail.


    SBW has pre-paid for 3 cabins that are full at this time.

    Those of you that have prepaid for the cabins, will be getting details via email on balance to be paid.

    Resort does not give refunds therefore deposit is non-refundable but it is transferable (if you find someone else to go in your place)

    Second Saturday of the month we ride from Markham Park and after going for a nice BIKE ride through Weston, the Southwest Ranches or Parkland, we gather for a BITE to eat and get the latest club news and upcoming events. 

     Great way to get to know fellow SBW members and have some fun! ! !

    A Different kind of Ride ! ! !


    FAT Tire Ride

    Back by popular demand...


    Need a change of scenery, a different kind of ride?

    Then join SBW as we ride through  the levee for an opportunity to get close with nature.

    Easy to ride on a fat tire, mountain, hybrid or cross country bike.  NO road bikes with skinny tires.

    About 35 miles, at various paces


    ATTENTION: 

    Make sure to bring some $$$$ for provisions once you reach rest stop.  No drinkable water available.


    Ride will leave from same parking lot as road bike rides, but heading out  on the levy.  Heading North to Atlantic Blvd, then West to Sate Rd 27 for a rest stop and then returning to Markham for SBW's Big Event.

    The Kids' Ride

    Everyone is welcome to invite a family member; grandkids and grandmas, nieces and nephews and kids of all ages !!!

    SBW would like to invite your families  to join us at Markham Park for a fun Saturday ride.  

    Your ride leader, Hugh, is a long time SBW member and a certified Ride Leader Marshall with the  Florida Bicycle Association.

    After a short safety lesson and helmet fitting, Hugh will take the families out for a ride within Markham Park.


    After the ride join us at our monthly Big Event, a picnic after the morning rides to hear about the latest club news and upcoming events. And of course, we will have snacks and beverages!!! 


    It's a great way to meet our members and share our love for cycling with the kids in a safe and fun environment.

    Note: Every child must be accompanied by an adult that will be riding along with them.  All adults and children must have helmets.

    Please Register so we may order enough snacks.

    As always, we will meet at the NW parking lot of Publix on Peters Rd. & University Dr. in Plantation. 

    All rides do basically the same route (40 miles) heading east with the exception of the INTERMEDIATE and EXPERIENCE group, which is about 5 miles shorter.  

    We will head out east on Peters Road and work our way  to the beach through Las Olas Blvd and then head north along the beach on A1A with a rest stop for all rides half way.

     This is a great ride to try to "step up" and try a higher level since we're all doing the same route. Don't worry, if you can't keep up, there will be another group behind you to pick you up.  

    Just remember, this ride many bridges and is a little more challenging than our regular weekend rides.
