    Another great SBW  'Destination Ride'

    is finally here . . . save the date!

    Saturday, January 29th, 2022

     Harley's 70 @ 7    


    That's 70 miles at 7:00AM 

    That means, pedals up at 7:00 A.M.

    parks in west boca at westbocaguide.com | west boca raton, south florida, usa

    Leaving from Tamarac, going north to Hypoluxo Rd in Lake Worth with two rest stops. We will head north, mostly on Lyons Rd and on the way back go through South County Regional Park.

    Advanced pace (17-19 mph) with a rotating pace line.

    Will be a fun and challenging ride but NOT recommended for those not comfortable with riding a metric (62 miles).
    Please inspect bikes, bring spare, snacks, sunblock and lots of water. Start hydrating on Friday.

    The first break will be at approx. 30 miles and second at 50 miles. 

      There will be a 45-mile turn off with a rest stop at 25 miles 

    (for those not wishing to do the full 70 miles)

    Afterwards, stay for some burgers!!!

    SLIGHT CHANGE OF START LOCATION INSIDE THE PARK

    Our regular parking lot is closed, so we will meet at the lot by the corporate pavilion / shelter. Once in the park go straight across the intersection, up and over the little hill and the parking lot is on the left.

    All Rides start at 7:30 AM

    Choose a Group

    Intermediate 14-16 mph

    Group goes out usually to Weston area for about 25-30 miles with a short break to fill bottles. - Good opportunity to learn paceline riding.

    Experienced – 16 to 18 mph

    Group goes out usually to Weston area for about 30 -35 miles with a short break. There will be a ride leader that will plan and communicate the route.

    Advanced - 18 to 20 mph

    Group goes out usually to Weston area for about 35 -40 miles with a short break. There will be a ride leader that will plan and communicate the route.

    After your ride, please join us for a BITE to eat & refreshments. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow club members & get latest club news and upcoming events.

    Ready for A Different kind of Ride ! ! !



    FAT  Tire Ride @ 12-15 mph

    Gravel    Ride @ 15-18 mph

    Both are back by popular demand...

    Need a change of scenery, a different kind of ride?

    Then join SBW as we ride through  the levee for an opportunity to get close with nature.

    Easy to ride on a fat tire, mountain, hybrid or cross country bike.  NO road bikes with skinny tires.

    About 37 miles, at various paces - no one will be left behind. 


    ATTENTION: 

    Make sure to bring some $$$$ for provisions once you reach rest stop.  No drinkable water available.

    Heading North to Atlantic Blvd, then West to Sate Rd 27 for a rest stop and then returning for SBW's Big Event.

    No one will be dropped or left behind.

    HELMETS  are required 

    No radios or earbuds & No children under 18 unless accompanied by an adult.

    13TH ANNUAL TOUR DE BROWARD RIDE


    Join us on March 6 for the 13th annual Tour de Broward. All proceeds will benefit Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, where treatment is provided for a variety of conditions.

    Tour de Broward 2022 will feature a variety of events for adults, kids, physically challenged athletes and wounded warriors alike. Participate in the 100k & 50k Cycling Ride, 5k Run, or 3k Walk with your family and friends. 

    The Tour de Broward has different events for everyone so no matter your fitness level, this event is for you ! Registration fees range from $15 to $50, depending upon the event and the day you sign up. Same-day registration is available.



     
    • Registration on the Tour De Broward website, or the same day at the event, is required and will be $50 for either the 50K or 100K ride.
    • Donations and Fundraising Goals are Optional.
    • Start times and routes will be posted when confirmed.

    As in previous years, it is expected there will be different speed levels available, ranging from 14MPH to 20+MPH. All registrations include Breakfast, Lunch, Event Shirt and Goodie Bag. 100K Ride, 50K Ride and 5K Run participants will receive a finisher medal. Everything is provided on a first come, first served basis.

    Pedal and Play will be held at Laishley Park Pavilions on picturesque Charlotte Harbor, 100 Nesbit Street in historic Punta Gorda, Florida.

     


    REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. It is $50 for any ride distance chosen online or $55 at Laishley Pavilion for on-site registration (only available on March 25th and March 26th)



    Featuring 15, 30 and 60 mile rides that are available for all skill levels. Details about the always popular 10 mile "Mystery Ride" will be announced soon.

One of the hallmarks of SBW is that our rides & routes are always different and unique and this is only possible by having many different ride leaders. 

So if you have been thinking about leading a ride . . . now it is your time and we will be behind you (literally) every pedal stroke to guide you.

We are bringing back our monthly $25 Starbucks gift cards & other raffle prizes.

Winners will be announced once a month on our Newsletter
